A renowned performer and educator, Devenport will coach Hoff-Barthelson cello students in a series of eight Master Classes during the 2016-2017 season. She holds a master's degree in Cello Performance from the University of Hartford's Hartt School, where she has been Chair of Strings of the Hartt Community Division for over 10 years. Through her workshops, international touring and selling of her book, "Cellostart," Devenport has reached a global audience in more than 20 countries.
Master Class coaching by guest artists has been part of Hoff-Barthelson’s curriculum since the school’s founding in 1944. The distinguished tradition continues today with a roster of world-class musicians and educators and includes performers notable performers, such as the New York Philharmonic.
Master classes are an enlightening experience for students and audiences alike. After months of careful preparation, students perform for the master teacher, who then offers feedback and guidance to the young performers.
